We broke 1,000 uploads this morning. So lets all pour a glass of chilled Vine-On-Rhine and toast the next 1,000. :-)

The Stock Footage Archives first birthday is coming up November 2nd. I never would have dreamed that this could work out so well. The Internet is amazing. The power of human imagination and creation amplified by sharing. Truly an amazing thing!

Amen, brother. Somehow I thought the stock footage archive was older than that -- that it started sometime in the summer of 2006. I guess that we have more to celebrate -- and be thankful for. Now, if we could somehow interest others in contributing...

Actually, several nice people have contacted me about posting Stock Footage. I think it requires more care to post footage to public domain than to make a video you will keep tight copyright control over. Your friend or neighbor might be willing to be in your video. They might not want to be in stock footage you post as public domain. Still, In less than a year a few people have managed to post footage on hundreds of topics in several formats. I don't know what the future of this archive will bring, but I believe it will be shaped by people who are willing to share. The Internet Archive is a great concept. The stock footage portion of this vast library is still in it's infant state. I am just happy I got to be here to see it take it's first steps.
